We want you to get the care you need.
Mary Abbott, LMHCA
I am passionate about meeting my clients where they are and providing support in a non-judgmental environment. I place high value on building a strong therapeutic relationship and honoring the stories and experiences of each client. I have a collaborative approach and believe my clients have the tools and strengths needed to make the desired changes.
I received my master’s degree from Huntington University. I enjoy working with the perinatal population, as well as couples and individuals experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, attachment issues, and relationship and family problems. I primarily use a client-centered approach combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as a trauma-informed approach. I also integrate attachment theory, brainspotting, and narrative therapy. My approach is not “one-size-fits-all” and is tailored to each individual. My hope is for clients to feel heard, valued, and encouraged.
I am a Christ-follower and believe that integrating biblical principles with counseling concepts can be truly healing and empowering. I have seen in my own life how Christ has taken broken pieces and painful experiences and turned them into something beautiful. While my faith is an important part of my life, I respect the beliefs and faith traditions of all backgrounds.
Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two children. As well as spending time with friends and family, reading, and spending time outdoors.
