Accelerated Resolution Therapy
Reclaimed Counseling offers Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) , a short-term, evidence-based psychotherapy that can help people resolve difficult emotions and memories. ART is based on the idea that our brains are constantly reorganizing and updating information, and that we can use this process to change the way we feel about and remember past experiences.
ART is a very active therapy, and it involves the therapist working with the client to identify and process difficult memories. The therapist will help the client to create a safe and supportive environment in which to do this work. The client will also be asked to engage in a number of specific techniques, such as eye movements and visualization, to help them to process the memory and change the way they feel about it.
ART is a very effective therapy, and it has been shown to be helpful for a variety of issues, including:
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Anxiety
Depression
Grief
Relationship problems
Addiction
If you are struggling with any of these issues, ART may be a good option for you. To learn more about ART or to schedule an appointment, please contact us at 317-537-7906.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) FAQ’s
How does ART work?
ART works by helping the client to access the memory of the traumatic event in a safe and controlled way. The therapist will then help the client to reprocess the memory in a way that allows them to let go of the negative emotions and beliefs that are associated with it.
ART is based on the idea that our brains are constantly reorganizing and updating information. This process is called neuroplasticity. When we experience a traumatic event, our brains create a memory of the event that is stored in a way that is associated with negative emotions and beliefs. ART helps to change the way that the memory is stored in the brain, so that it is no longer associated with these negative emotions and beliefs.
What are the benefits of ART?
ART has been shown to be an effective treatment for a variety of issues, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship problems, and addiction. ART is a short-term therapy, and most people see significant improvement after just a few sessions.
ART is also a very safe therapy. There are no known risks or side effects associated with ART.
What should I expect during my first ART session?
Your first ART session will begin with a consultation with the therapist. During the consultation, the therapist will ask you about your history and the issues that you are struggling with. The therapist will also explain how ART works and what you can expect from the therapy.
After the consultation, the therapist will begin to work with you to identify the specific memories that you want to work on. The therapist will then help you to reprocess these memories in a safe and controlled way.
Each ART session typically lasts for 50-60 minutes.
What are the costs of ART?
The cost of ART will vary depending on the therapist and whether or not your insurance covers the cost of counseling. However, ART is a very affordable therapy.
Is ART covered by insurance?
Some insurance plans cover ART, but others do not. It is important to check with your insurance company to see if ART is covered. If you are not sure, we can check for you. Just contact us and we would be happy to help.
What if I am not ready for ART?
If you are not ready for ART, there are other therapies that we offer at Reclaimed Counseling that may be a good fit for you. Some other therapies that may be helpful for people who have experienced trauma include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
